Applications must be sent to presidesia@uniroma1.it and must include the following documentation:

The Admission Committee will evaluate the application and, if eligible, the applicant will receive a pre-acceptance letter by e-mail.
VISA AND PRE-ENROLLMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS RESIDING
ABROAD
Non-EU citizens residing abroad need a national type-D study visa to enter Italy and complete their enrollment. The visa is issued exclusively by the Italian Diplomatic Representation (Embassy or Consulate) competent for the applicant's country of residence: the University cannot issue the visa nor influence the decision, but the steps below are mandatory to start the process. EU citizens, and non-EU citizens already legally residing in Italy with a valid residence permit, are exempt from this procedure (see the categories described by Sapienza's International Student Office).
After receiving the pre-acceptance letter from the Admission Committee, the procedure is as follows:
1. Register on Infostud. Once pre-accepted, register on Sapienza's student portal Infostud to obtain your student ID number (matricola). You will need this number in step 2. Note: SPID/CIE login is mandatory only for Italian citizens; international students follow the dedicated registration path.
2. Submit the pre-enrollment application on Universitaly. The Universitaly portal is the only official and free channel for the visa pre-enrollment. To access the application, click the small profile icon in the top right-hand corner of the page and register (or log in, if you already have an account). From the same profile menu, open a "New pre-enrollment
application" and select the academic year: at this point, due to a bug in the Universitaly system, please select 'disabilitato' at 'Course type' and write at 'Course Name': Special Master of Aerospace Engineering (Sapienza code 24800). The following screenshot clarifies the step:

After this, indicate the Italian Embassy/Consulate where you will apply for the visa. In the field "ID account at the chosen University / AFAM / Institute" enter your Infostud matricola. Upload your passport, a passport-style photo, and your academic qualification.
General instructions and the Ministry circular are available in the international students section. For any issue concerning the Universitaly portal at Sapienza, write to presidesia@uniroma1.it.
3. Qualification recognition documents. Your foreign degree must be accompanied either by a Dichiarazione di Valore issued by the competent Italian Diplomatic Representation, or by a Statement of Comparability issued by CIMEA, together with a legalized/apostilled and copy of the diploma. These documents must confirm that your title gives access to third-cycle / post-graduate studies in the country where it was obtained.
4. Validation and visa request. Once validated, the application is forwarded to the selected Embassy/Consulate. You must then contact the Diplomatic Representation directly to book your visa appointment and follow its instructions. As a recommended reference, the deadlines set for this degree programme are 30 November 2026 for the 2026/2027academic year and 31 October 2027 for the 2027/2028academic year.
Please note: the validation of a pre-enrollment application does not guarantee the issuance of the visa, nor does it automatically guarantee enrollment. Enrollment is finalized only upon completion of all the steps above and verification of your documents.
For administrative matters concerning the student career in this program, the competent office is the Segreteria studenti delle Scuole di Specializzazione(segr.specializzazione@uniroma1.it). For admission to the Special Master, applications remain to be sent to presidesia@uniroma1.it.
The annual tuition fee is expected to be around 1400 euros. It is possible to pay the tuition fee in two installments. The first installment must be paid at the time of enrollment, with a deadline on November 5th, 2025. The second installment must be paid by March 2026. Tuition fee covers courses, exams, access to laboratories, libraries, and other Sapienza facilities. Students will have to cover by themselves all other expenses related to their stay such as accommodation, food, transportation, visa expenses, medical/health insurance.
*Students who have not yet completed their course of study but expect to complete it by November 5th, 2025 can apply to the Special Master by supplying an official document from their university confirming their expected graduation date. This document will only be a temporary substitute for the official copy of the final diploma.
