The Special Master of Aerospace Engineering (code: 28400) is a two-year program. However, it reduces to a one-year program for students having a master degree (or an equivalent degree) in the area of aerospace engineering. The latter are enrolled directly as second-year students.
All courses are taught in English.
The title will be awarded once acquired at least 120 CFU (credits). to be reduced to at least 60 CFU for one-year program.
The courses shall be selected following a standard curriculum, or proposing a personal one, depending on student's own interests. The latter is especially suggested for the students following a one-year program. While the standard curriculum is automatically accepted, the personal one shall be submitted to the School's board for approval. Students are invited to reach professors Fabio Celani (fabio.celani@uniroma1.it) and Giovanni Palmerini (giovanni.palmerini@uniroma1.it) to discuss their proposal; a distribution of the courses among different field (flight mechanics, structures, systems, propulsion, electronics) is encouraged. Indications on the content of each course, as well as about their distribution between the two lecturing periods, can be found in the syllabus, available at this page https://sia.web.uniroma1.it/en/course-schedule .
The standard curriculum for students that enroll in the academic year 2025-2026 is presented in the following tables. A personal curriculum can be designed by selecting the courses listed in the tables without strictly following the mandatory/optional indications and/or the year.
Each curriculum shall be completed by the final dissertation (thesis, https://sia.web.uniroma1.it/en/node/5790 ), contributing to the grand total (either 120 or 60 CFUs) with 24 credits.
