PCTO

The Pathway for Transversal Skills and Orientation (PCTO) represents a fundamental opportunity for secondary school students, as it allows them to become familiar with the world of work and acquire practical skills in addition to the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom.

The School of Aerospace Engineering has supported this project for several years by welcoming high school students into its laboratories and involving them in research activities in collaboration with the School's researchers and professors.

Students, divided into working groups, have the opportunity to follow an educational and training path focused on the development of transversal skills. They are supported in their activities by audiovisual materials and handouts, with differentiated access based on their level of preparation.

Within each group, every student has the opportunity to focus on a specific discipline according to their initial skills and personal interests.

PCTO "Microsatellites: From Design to Testing" – Academic Year 2023–2024

In the academic year 2023–2024, the training program focused on acquiring the skills necessary for the design, development, and testing of a CubeSat.

Professors opened their laboratories and planned a program based on the 30 hours allocated to the students. The full PCTO program for the academic year 2023–2024 can be viewed in the attached document.

The PCTO "Microsatellites: From Design to Testing" for the school year 2023/24 included the participation of:

  • 12 students from ITIS Federico Caffè
  • 10 students from ITIS Fermi
  • 1 student from Liceo Scientifico Kennedy
